On Wednesday, 29th May 2013 in hotel "Europe" Sarajevo, Entrepreneurship Development Centre organized the promotion of fifth annual BiH GEM report, entitled "GEM BiH 2012: Through Entrepreneurship Education towards Youth (Self) Employment". Welcome speech was given by Sanjin Halimović, Federal minister of Development, Entrepreneurship and Crafts; Sorinel Ghetau, director of Oxfam Italia; Mike Chambers, head of Swiss funded Youth Employment Project (YEP) and former director of Prince’s Fund in the UK, as well as by Professor Bahrija Umihanić, leader of GEM team Bosnia-Herzegovina.

Members of GEM team Bosnia-Herzegovina presented results and findings of BiH GEM report 2012.  Mirela Omerović spoke about Entrepeneurial attitudes, activities and aspirations, while Rasim Tulumović spoke about Entrepreneurial Framework Conditions. Topic Entrepreneurship and migration was presented by Majda Mujanović, coordinator of Entrepreneurship Development Center in absence of Slađana Simić, one of the GEM team members. Special focus in this report was on interaction between entrepreneurship education and youth employment in B&H, which was the topic of Ranko Markuš presentation. Professor Bahrija Umihanić, leader of GEM team presented conclusions and recommendations. General conclusion is that youth involvement in entrepreneurship is reduced and that youth enter entrepreneurship mostly out of necessity. In combination with insufficient entrepreneurship education in formal and informal education system, such situation calls for more attention of relevant stakeholders to be paid on entrepreneurship development in B&H.

Partner on GEM project in 2012 is University of Tuzla. Promotion event was supported by Oxfam Italia and BH Telecom, while publishing was supported by Federal ministry of Development, Entrepreneurship and Crafts; Ministry of Development and Entrepreneurship of Tuzla Canton, Municipality of Tuzla, MCF Prizma and Youth Employment Project (YEP).
